A Variation in the Left Brachial Plexus in Korean Adult Cadaver


Abstract
It is observed by the author that a variation in the left brachial plexus of 56 years old Korean male cadaver.
This observation can be out summarized as follows;
1. The 5 roots of the brachial plexus, the anterior primary divisions of 5th to 8th cervical spinal nerves and 1st thoracic spinal nerve, are become a common large fascicle together. Also a part of , the anterior primary division of 4th cervical nerve unites into the common large fascicle. This common large fascicle, after reach in the postero-inferior portion of the clavicle, separated the posterior cord and common cord which the medial and lateral cords unites into one. The terminal branches, ulnar, median and musculocutaneous nerves, arises from the common cord directly.
2. A part of fibers splits out from the anterior primary division of the 7th cervical spinal nerve communicates with the fascicle becoming under the medial cord from among the common cord.
3. The brachial plexus lies in the postero-lateral aspect of the axillary artery.
